The most awaited event in Lignano Sabbiadoro is “Festa delle Cape” because it represents the start of the new season's events. In 2019 the 35th edition of Festa delle Cape will take place at lunch and dinner of Saturdays and Sundays 2-3 and 9-10 March 2019 in Piazza Marcello d'Olivo, Lignano Pineta.
Festa delle Cape was born in 1984 thanks to the work of some professional fishermen than prosecuted by Associazione A.P.S. “ Al mare” of Lignano Sabbiadoro, the aim is to get people know the fish of the Northern Adriatic Sea to locals and tourists, but overall to give to charity the earnings of the event.
At Festa delle Cape you can eat razor shells, clams, grilled, breaded, "in saor" sardines, squids and other local specialties.
In the past edition the earnings have been given to AGMEN, La “Via di Natale”, Il Centro Trapianti di Organi, i Bambini in Emergenza and other local associations.
